iPhone 18 Pro video leak reveals design and color changes
A comprehensive video leak from Front Page Tech has provided a detailed look at the potential design for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro. While the overall chassis appears largely identical to the iPhone 17 Pro, several key internal and aesthetic changes are highlighted. The most notable shift involves the front-facing technology; the leak suggests that Apple will finally hide the Face ID sensors beneath the display. This change would allow the selfie camera to move to the top-left corner, fundamentally altering the appearance of the Dynamic Island. Instead of a centered pill, the Dynamic Island would now “fly out” from the corner to display notifications and live activities.
Color options are also reportedly seeing a shake-up for the 2026 flagship. According to the leak, Apple is testing several unconventional shades for the Pro lineup, including burgundy, brown, and purple. These would potentially sit alongside silver, orange, and blue. While Apple typically sticks to more conservative metallic tones for its Pro models, the addition of these richer, darker colors could signal a desire to offer more variety in its premium segment.
Hardware improvements mentioned in the leak align with previous rumors regarding Apple’s next-generation camera systems. The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a variable aperture camera system, which would allow for significantly better performance in varying light conditions by physically adjusting how much light hits the sensor. Other rumored features include a simplified Camera Control button—which was introduced with the iPhone 16 series—and 5G satellite connectivity to improve communication in remote areas.
Regarding the release schedule, the leak reinforces reports of a major strategy shift at Apple. The company may launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a much-anticipated foldable iPhone in September 2026. Under this rumored plan, the standard iPhone 18 and the secondary iPhone Air 2 would be delayed until March 2027. This staggered release would allow Apple to focus its marketing efforts on its high-end and innovative new form factors during the busy holiday season.
