Oppo find x9 ultra launch date in India set for May 2026

The premium smartphone landscape in India is about to witness a tectonic shift. After months of rumors and a high-octane launch event in China on April 21, Oppo has confirmed that its most ambitious devices yet are heading to Indian shores. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra launch is scheduled for May 2026, and it isn’t coming alone. Joining the ultra-premium flagship is the Find X9s, a device that promises to bring top-tier photography and performance to a slightly more accessible price point.

The photography king arrives: 200MP periscope camera

Oppo has never been shy about its photography ambitions, but the Find X9 Ultra takes things to an almost absurd level. The headline feature here is the world’s first dual 200MP periscope camera system. While other brands are still perfecting a single high-resolution zoom, Oppo has packed two. One is dedicated to a 3x optical zoom, while the other handles a massive 10x optical zoom, capable of reaching up to 120x digital magnification.

This isn’t just about big numbers. The main 200MP sensor is nearly 1-inch in size, utilizing the Sony LYT-901 sensor to pull in significantly more light than any previous generation. Combined with Hasselblad Color Calibration, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra launch represents a serious threat to traditional mirrorless cameras for everyday creators. Whether you are shooting in a dimly lit restaurant or zooming in on a performer at a stadium, the detail retention is reportedly industry-leading.

Performance that breaks records with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Speed is the name of the game for 2026, and Oppo isn’t taking any chances. The Ultra model is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a chipset that has already started shattering benchmark records. This processor is built on a 3nm architecture, focusing on extreme power efficiency and AI processing. In India, where mobile gaming and heavy multitasking are top priorities, this chip ensures that the Find X9 Ultra remains future-proof for years.

The Find X9s, on the other hand, shifts gears by utilizing the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s. While technically the “junior” chip in this lineup, the 9500s is no slouch, offering performance that rivals most 2025 flagships. Both devices come equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring that app launches are instantaneous and background processes never stutter.

Battery life that actually lasts: The 7050mAh monster

Perhaps the most practical upgrade in this new series is the introduction of a 7050mAh battery smartphone configuration. For years, flagship phones have hovered around the 5000mAh mark, often struggling to last a full day under heavy 5G usage. Oppo has broken that ceiling. By using a new silicon-carbon battery technology, they have managed to pack more capacity into a thinner frame.

Charging these massive cells doesn’t take all day, either. The Ultra supports 100W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Even with a battery this large, you can get from zero to 100% in under 40 minutes. For those on the move in busy Indian metros, this combination of huge capacity and rapid top-ups is a game-changer.

Design and Display: A visual treat

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra launch also brings a stunning 6.82-inch QHD+ AMOLED display to the table. With a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3600 nits, this screen is perfectly visible even under the harsh Indian summer sun. The Find X9s offers a slightly smaller 6.59-inch panel, but keeps the high refresh rate and vibrant color accuracy that the Find series is known for.

The build quality is equally impressive, featuring NanoCrystal Glass and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. This means the phone can survive not just a splash, but even high-pressure water jets—a level of durability that is still rare in the flagship segment.

Release dates, price, and availability in India

While the devices are already on sale in China, the Indian market is looking at a staggered release throughout the month of May.

Here are the currently known launch details.

  1. India Launch Date: Expected May 12, 2026.
  2. Oppo Find X9 Ultra India Price: Expected to start at ₹80,990 for the base variant, going up to ₹1,27,000 for the 1TB model.
  3. Oppo Find X9s India Price: Expected to start at approximately ₹74,999.
  4. Colours: Polar Glacier, Rongsha Valley, and Tundra for the Ultra; Energetic Orange and Titanium for the X9s.
  5. Retailers: Available via Oppo Store, Amazon India, and Flipkart, with pre-order bonuses including the new Oppo Watch X3 for early buyers.

Oppo is clearly aiming for the crown with these devices. If the camera performance lives up to the 200MP hype, the Find X9 Ultra might just be the most important phone of 2026.
